ABTC President's Awards 2010

The President’s Award is meant to recognize outstanding ABTC volunteers. Sandi Geary  and Tannis Witherspoon received the President's Award at the ABTC 2010 National Specialty Banquet.

Sandi Geary - President's Award 2010

  1. Developed the new ABTC website
    1. It took close to 400 hours to get the initial new website up and running.
    2. She did three mock ups before she settled on the version people see
  2. Continues to add new functionality to the website and maintain it
  3. She is available or working on the website 24/7 even during trips and vacations.
  4. She is happy to share her knowledge and genuinely enjoys helping someone learn to work their part, hence the new website is very user and contributor friendly
  5. Part of the work she did which is what made it so difficult was getting the new website interactive
  6. She is responsible for the polling system, the membership directory and section, the archives section being available, PayPal, etc. etc.
  7. She took the job as a short term committee job; I think we are going on 5 years now
  8. She wasn't able to just transfer the old website information, therefore it all had to be retyped
  9. She has set up the website so it monitors itself, which allows us to know what areas are being visited the most and by whom.
  10. And she did all of this with a 70 hour a week job, while training her own dogs and showing them. She was also the sales person for the Nebraska national during the time period she was developing the site.   Good thing for us Sandi isn't a big sleeper!
